Access reporting and analytics for Wallet

Reporting and analytics help you track the performance of your Wallet campaigns, measure user engagement, and optimize your strategy. You can monitor key metrics to understand how users interact with your cards and notifications.

Before you start

To access reporting and analytics, you need:

  • An active Wallet project
  • Campaigns or automations running

⬇️ Installation rate benchmarks

A good installation rate is typically:

  • Apple: 70-85%
  • Google: 55-75%

Google is closing the gap slowly but surely:

  • Installation rates vary by channel (email, SMS, in-store) - it needs a channel & tag in the installation url, otherwise it's impossible to have the detail
  • Dedicated emails tend to have higher installation rates than newsletter placements.

We do not have this information. We only report the volume of notifications sent: not delivery, opening or clicks. In addition, we send the order for the notification to Apple and Google, after this point, we don't have much info on delivrability and statistics

  • Audience is "moving" (installation, void,…) it's like taking a picture on the spot. If you try to do the report on the same period with a few weeks' difference, you will not get exactly the same results
  • Monitor your KPIs monthly to identify trends
  • Compare performance across different campaigns to identify best practices.
  • Adjust your strategy based on what the data tells you.

    The total number of cards generated for a campaign.

    The number of cards currently active in users' wallets
  • Installation rate
    Percentage of created cards that were installed. Formula: (Cards installed / Cards created) Γ— 100

    The number of cards that users have added to their Apple or Google Wallet (can be inactive now)
  • Engagement rate
    Number of cards activations / number of communications sent
  • Vendor rate (Apple/Google)
    Number of cards activations per vendor
  • Churn rate
    Percentage of users who stop using or remove their loyalty card from their wallet over a given period - number of inactive cards / number of cards installed

View campaign statistics

  1. Go to the Campaigns tab.
  2. Select the campaign you want to analyze.
  3. View the summary of campaign performance.

From there, you can see:

  • Total cards created
  • Total cards installed
  • Installation rate
  • Cards currently active

View automation performance

  1. Go to the Automation tab.
  2. View the summary of all automation rules in chronological order.
  3. Select a specific automation rule to see detailed performance.

From there, you can see:

  • How many users were affected by the rule
  • When the automation was triggered
  • Performance of notifications sent through the automation

  1. Go to the Audience tab.
  2. Search for specific cards or users.
  3. View individual card status and activity.

From there, you can see:

  • Card status (active, installed, expired)
  • Campaign assignment
  • User information

A good retention rate indicates that your communication frequency is appropriate and users find value in your Wallet card. We recommend maintaining a retention rate above 95%.

↗️ Export data

Export data for external analysis

To perform advanced analysis outside of Captain Wallet:

  1. Access your campaign and automation data through the platform.
  2. Note the key metrics you want to analyze.
  3. Use the data to create custom reports or presentations.

You can combine Wallet data with other business metrics (in-store sales, website traffic, email performance) to get a complete view of your marketing effectiveness.

Export data from your Wallet environment

  1. Go to Reporting.

  2. Select all the campaigns you want to export.
  3. Click the three-dot menu > Send reports.

  4. Choose the report type (Campaign, Redeem, Share, or Counter) and click Next.

  5. Set the reporting period and date format.

  6. Enter the email addresses of contacts who should receive the export file.
  7. Click Next.

The export file will be sent to the selected contacts. 

πŸ’‘ Good to know
Sometimes, pipes stucks and reporting is not sent quickly. After 10/15min if the report isn't in your inbox, try again. If it's still stuck, ask to the technical team. The size of the client audience is impacting the delivery, it can take several minutes if the client has 100K-200K users or more.

A new feature on the platform allows you to automatically receive these reports on a server, at your chosen frequency.
