Create and manage entry points on Wallet

Entry points allow you to control which campaign users see when they first add their wallet card to their device.

❓ What is an entry point?

An entry point determines which campaign a user will be directed to when they activate their wallet card. Entry points work with a schedule system that allows you to plan which campaign displays to new users during specific time periods.

Entry points are particularly useful when you want new card activations to automatically show a promotional campaign instead of your default campaign.

Good to know

  • The campaign you want to redirect users to must be set up in the Campaigns tab.
  • By default, your wallet link will redirect the new users to your "default" campaign. Your default campaign can be identified with the yellow icon.
  • Entry point rules only affect new card activations. 
  • Users who already have an active card are not affected by entry point changes. To move existing users to a different campaign, use the automation rules in the Automation tab.

  • Plan ahead: Set up entry point rules in advance to ensure new users always see the most relevant campaign
  • Check for overlaps: The system will not allow overlapping rules, so plan your campaign schedule carefully

💡 Example of a welcome campaign for new users during the holiday season

You want to run a special welcome campaign for new users during the holiday season:

  1. Create a holiday campaign with a special welcome offer.
  2. Go to Campaign > Entry Points and create a rule directing new users to the holiday campaign.
  3. Set the start date to December 1 and the end date to December 31.
  4. After December 31, new users will automatically return to your default entry point campaign.

You do not yet have an entry point configured
  1. Go to Campaign > Entry Points.
  2. Click Create an entry point.
  3. Select the Schedule type. 
  4. Configure your entry point:
    1. Set up the entry point URL identifier : ⚠️ this ID must be the campaign ID that you use in your wallet links. As a reminder, the structure of a wallet link is as follows: https://accountId.captainwallet.com/projectId/campaignId?….
    2. (Optional) Add a description.
  5. Click Create
You already have an entry point configured
  1. Click on the entry point you want to configure.
  2. Click Create a rule.
  3. From the drop-down, select the campaign you want to redirect new users to.
  4. Define the start date for this redirection.
  5. Define the end date for this redirection.
  6. Click Validate.

The rule is now created and active.

⚙️ Manage existing entry point rules

👁️ View active rules

To view your active entry point rules, go to Campaign > Entry Points and click the one you want to view. All rules associated with that entry point will be displayed in chronological order

✍️ Edit a rule

To edit an existing entry point rule:

  1. Go to Campaign > Entry Points and locate the rule in your entry points list. 
  2. Click the entry point you want to edit and click Edit.
  3. Edit the entry point.
    ❗️ Important
    If required, update the campaign start date and/or end date.
  4. Click Save. 

🗑️ Delete a rule

To delete an entry point rule:

  1. Go to Campaign > Entry Points and locate the rule you want to delete.
  2. Click the entry point and click Delete. 
  3. Confirm the deletion.
